Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii)

Douglas Fir is known for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic, antimicrobial, astringent, expectorant and sedative properties. Traditionally used for respiratory system, immune system and digestive system. When you put the name in any search engine you get many many results around essential oils.

For a good reason it’s widely used for not only its benefits to the respiratory system, but as a fragrance, as it is reminisces of a walk in the forest and Christmas time. In a tea (tisane or decoction) the needles, like White Pine, have a very light citrus flavour.
